SCROLL TO EXPLORE
Who I Am

A little about me

Hey, I'm Pujan.

I'm currently studying BE in Geomatics Engineering, learning how maps, data and technology can help us understand the physical world.

I'm always curious about learning new things and exploring ideas beyond what I study academically. Alongside Geomatics, I find myself drawn toward psychology and philosophy — the questions behind how people think, behave, perceive and make meaning.

And somewhere between all of that, I write poems and collect thoughts.

Mapping

Understanding the world through spatial data.

Exploration

Always curious about what lies beyond the familiar.

Psychology

Interested in how the human mind works.

Poetry

Turning thoughts into words.

Perspective

Two worlds, one curious mind

The Technical Side

  • Geomatics
  • GIS
  • Mapping
  • OpenStreetMap
  • Python
  • Space

I like understanding the world through data, maps and technology.

The Human Side

  • Psychology
  • Philosophy
  • Poetry
  • Ideas
  • Curiosity
  • Observation

And I like understanding the people who live in that world.

What I've built so far

Mapping Tomorrow

OSM Hackfest 2026
TEAM Pujan Adhikari Chandra Shekhar Yadav Ashish Acharya

We recently created a web-based platform that leverages OpenStreetMap data to identify disaster-prone areas and connect local communities with nearby recycling and waste-management resources.

The problem — in the current system, departments such as disaster management and waste management often operate independently, limiting overall efficiency and impact.

Our idea — integrate these two sectors into a unified framework, enabling them to work collaboratively rather than in isolation.

The impact — by bringing disaster preparedness and waste management together on a single platform, the project aims to improve coordination, optimize resource utilization, strengthen disaster resilience and promote sustainable waste practices.

Building the toolkit

Early days — these are the tools I'm actively learning, not areas of finished expertise.

QGIS

Spatial analysis and GIS workflows.

OpenStreetMap

Open geographic data and community mapping.

Google Earth

Exploring and understanding geographic environments.

Python for Mapping

Beginning to combine programming with geospatial work.

The journey so far

2026 — Beginning

Started BE in Geomatics Engineering

The first step into a field that blends data, geography and the physical world.

Learning to Map

QGIS, OpenStreetMap, Google Earth & Python

Started exploring the core tools of spatial data and geographic technology.

ROLE

Event Coordinator

I am currently serving as an Event Coordinator for SEDS at my college.

Three teams from six institutions battled it out across orbital mechanics, astronomy and the latest space missions, testing not just their knowledge but their ability to think quickly under pressure.

Not everything I think belongs on a map

Alongside the technical work, I write poems, quotes and personal reflections — a quieter, more personal thread running through everything else.

Ideas In Progress

Currently exploring

Psychology

Interested in understanding behavior, perception and the hidden patterns behind human actions.

Philosophy

Exploring questions about consciousness, meaning, existence and the human experience.

Space

Curious about the universe beyond the maps we make on Earth.

Geomatics

Learning how spatial data can help us understand and solve real-world problems.
